Gwangbin Kim researches intelligible interaction for ubiquitous human-AI systems in contexts such as automated vehicles. He holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and an M.S. in Robotics from Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST), where he is pursuing his Ph.D. Previously, he worked as a research engineer at SOSLAB, where he developed LiDAR systems.
Minwoo Seong is an applied AI researcher focused on sensory reconstruction of human motions across both real and virtual worlds. He is the lead author of Scientific Data papers on multimodal wearable datasets for physical activities. Seong holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and an M.S. in Robotics from Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST), where he is currently pursuing his Ph.D. His research has been awarded the Best Paper Award from KCC, an Honorable Mention Award at ACM CHI, and a challenge runner-up award at the IJCAI 2023.
Dohyeon Yeo researches simulating user experiences with interactive systems using immersive technologies. He holds a B.S. in control and automation engineering from Korea Maritime and Ocean University (KMOU) and an M.S. in Robotics from Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST), where he is pursuing his Ph.D. His research on assisting humans in navigational contexts received best paper awards from UbiComp and HCI Korea, as well as an Honorable Mention Award from ACM CHI.
Yumin Kang investigates user needs and preferences for intelligent systems and designs interactive systems to aid users in their decision-making under ubiquitous computing scenarios. She earned her B.S. in Media Technology from Hanyang University ERICA and her M.S. in Robotics from Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST), where she is pursuing her Ph.D. degree. She received an Honorable Mention Award at ACM AutoUI 2023 for her research on human behavior on roads with ambient automated vehicles.
SeungJun Kim is a professor at Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST), directing the Human-Centered Intelligent Systems Lab. Prior to GIST, he was a special faculty at the Human-Computer Interaction Institute, Carnegie Mellon University, and led research projects on XR, robotics, and human-AI interaction. Kim holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from KAIST and an M.S. and Ph.D. in Mechatronics from GIST. His research focuses on sensory intelligence and augmentation through multimodal XR in ubiquitous computing environments, recognized with paper awards from UbiComp, ACM CHI, IEEE ISMAR, and ACM AutoUI.
