Course Description (from the course calendar)

This course is designed to elaborate educational uses of the internet. Students will learn to use a wide variety of Internet tools for interpersonal and professional communication, collaboration, net-working, and publishing on the Internet. Strategies for effective searching and retrieving of information and evaluating content on the Internet will be developed. The course will also introduce students to web-based learning, including an examination of online learning in Manitoba schools. Issues surrounding the use of the Internet, including ethical issues, cyber-bullying and copyright will also be explored.
