Friend, rest today under the covering of His wings. Let Him shelter your heart and provide the strength you need to heal and eventually soar through whatever difficult circumstances you are facing today.

I have often run to Him and found rest in the shadow of His wings! As a little child when my dad died, as a young girl feeling unloved and lonely and now as an older woman who is slowly dying from a disease that is destroying my entire nervous system I still run to Him and find peace beneath his powerful yet comforting feathers. I see myself as a tiny, helpless baby bird and Him as my loving shelter and protector. He always is there loving me and protecting me. Nothing can harm me when I trust in Him and there is no other peace like that beneath his Wings.

My wings were back. I beat them in time with the thunderclaps. Their power and strength were new to me. My heart went boom, the thunder answered boom, my wings flapped boom. I climbed up on the window ledge, leaned over the edge and stepped out onto the air. A brief moment of terror, then the wind held me. My wings stretched out wide and I rose in a spiral up over the courtyard. Flapping, joyful, and singing I flew up and out over the city. The moon broke through the clouds, illuminating the river below. Slippery silver and dotted with yellow lights from boats that bobbed along its lengths, it curved around the city making a liquid road into the forest beyond.

There was pain, sudden and bright in my right wing, then a crack not unlike the thunder that had called me to this place. My wings shattered, and I saw a rain of feathers before I felt myself falling head over heel. The brown surface of the water hit me like a fist, and I plunged down into the cold, out of breath, too tired to be frightened.

To the choirmaster: according to Do Not Destroy. A Miktam of David, when he fled from Saul, in the cave. Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me, for in you my soul takes refuge; in the shadow of your wings I will take refuge, till the storms of destruction pass by.

O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to it! How often would I have gathered your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you were not willing!

No one could see me there. I could feel the warmth of his body and the beat of his heart. I could feel the smooth softness of his feathers. I was completely hidden from the world under the shadow of his wing.

I just came from worshipping the Lord: Oh, this is the sweetest thing, it is full of heavenly fragrant to my soul, it soothes my spirit. Oh how sweet to be under Father God eyes and to be wrapped in the warmness of His wings. The peace, love, mercy and caring eyes of the Almighty is what I needed at this present moment. I am fill with joy unspeakable.

I really felt emotional tonight and just didnt seem to find a way out. Then I read this post, imagined myself under His wings and felt peace seeping in. Thank you for sharing and also for the beautiful picture of the eagle.

"Hide me under the shadow of thy wings," says Psalm 17:8. Until recently I never considered the deeper meaning of this verse beyond its poetic depiction of the protection and comfort of the Lord. "O Jerusalem, Jerusalem," Jesus said in Matthew 23:37, "how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings!" The imagery is beautiful. But as in all things of God, the more closely we examine it, the more splendor we see.

Hide me under the shadow of thy wings, O Lord,

and give thine an gels charge concerning me:

that I may lie down in peace, and take my rest,

for it is thou, Lord, only, that makest me to dwell in safety.

Once Ayasanth confronts Cygenoth, you'll need to kill him, though the NPC will be incapacitated for the fight so you're on your own. He wasn't difficult to deal with on my shadow priest but he may be troublesome for squishier classes without any healing abilities.

The refining fire of affliction is painful (Isaiah 48:10), but we can trust Him and the outcome of the particularly designed affliction (Romans 8:28-29). We can humbly admit that God is wiser than we are and that, as the perfect Father, He truly does know what is best for us. He will fulfill His purpose for us. In the raging storm, we can safely take refuge under His wings until the storms of destruction pass by.

Hide me under the shadow of Thy wings,

O Lord, and give Thine angels charge concerning me:

That I may lie down in peace, and take my rest,

for it is Thou, Lord, only, that makest me to dwell in safety.

Just recently a group of my friends were discussing birds. The discussion was prompted by me telling them I had seen a humming bird on our balcony deep in a pot of winter pansies. I was really surprised to see it as winter is approaching and I thought I should remind this little one that he should definitely be thinking of flying south. The humming bird is one of my favourite birds, but I was fascinated to hear how others in the group varied widely in which birds they really liked. Their preferences ranged from peacocks to robins to bald eagles and as I was listening to them I suddenly recalled the amazement I felt when I first witnessed, while we were living beside the lake in British Columbia, the mighty span of the wings of the great horned owl. This huge bird measures up to 2 feet tall and its wing span can reach 5 feet. It can swivel its head 270 degrees. This bird is not one to mess with!! When it flew across our property its wings cast a huge shadow, but the most surprising event we witnessed in our little part of the wilderness, was during one night, when we heard scratching noises on the sky light of our bedroom. When my husband turned on the light we could see two sets of claws. The great horned owl was sitting on our sky light and under her wings was a baby owl. We quickly turned off the light. We were not going to disturb that scene.

We find our Heavenly Father being pictured as a mighty bird, just like my great horned owl, a mighty bird able to protect us just by us being under the shadow of his wings (Psalm 17:8). In Psalm 91 we read;

Let my faith grow so that I will always be sure of the things You have not done yet. I wait on you Lord, here in the shadow of your wings. I will wait for your salvation, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
