Initially an indie project, I joined just as the team received funding to bring it to life. Set in medieval South Korea, the game blends traditional East Asian elements with classic action RPG gameplay, aiming to fill a gap in the market for oriental fantasy single-player games—a genre that was underexplored at the time. I started as a game systems designer and, on the job, learned Unreal Blueprints and C++, eventually taking on the role of a programmer to implement combat system frameworks and other core systems. I was also involved in story and design discussions, overseeing the story direction.
Although the project is no longer in development due to funding constraints, it provided me with invaluable experience in a collaborative environment with developers who have AAA experience. It also allowed me to become proficient with Unreal Engine 5.
Roles: Game Programmer, Game Designer
RangBi is a strategy roguelite auto-battler that centers on building a dungeon-raiding team. It features node-based dungeons and a distinctive auto-battler experience, with unique boss battles, a progression system, and squad management. For the production-level demo, which offers over two hours of gameplay, I handled game design, managed all string and non-combat data in the engine, and oversaw project management for a team of seven. I also developed datasets for the dialogue and progression systems.

Through this project, I’ve worked on gameplay mechanics, prototyping, and system iteration while helping shape the overall design direction of the game. The project has gained early community traction, reaching over 2,000 Steam wishlists and accumulating 33,000+ views on Bilibili through promotional content and development updates.
