"Here in my Skin is a piece that includes immersive elements to show women of color in a way that allows them to break out of expectations and share their truth. Through the use of text from Ntozake Shange’s For Colored Girls who have Considered Suicide When The Rainbow was Enuf, the peice will offer a look into the expeirences shared by Black and brown women. By combining elements of mundanity with Shange’s language; I feel the work will have a balance between joy and the difficult truths of being a WOC. The audience should feel like a fly on the wall as they are watching." - Kennedi Roland, Director
