Welcome to the 4Cs! In this lesson you will learn about the 21st century skills essential to help our students be successful. In order to expose students to these skills, it is crucial that educators craft lessons and curate resources to foster collaboration, creativity, critical thinking, and communication.

Society and education have changed significantly over the past 120 years and it is crucial that educators are changing with the times. Each of these cartoons showcase the 4Cs.

  • The top left cartoon is a humorous way of showing the benefits of communication and collaboration.
  • The top right cartoon makes a joke about what creativity and collaboration unfortunately can look like in many work places.
  • The bottom left cartoon draws attention to the creativity and critical thinking of our young learners. We as educators must be equipped to foster these skills.
  • The bottom right cartoon also pokes fun at how young learners communicate.
