Airport: the most convenient are Hannover airport (HAJ) and Berlin Brandenburg Airport Willy Brandt (BER), from which you can easily reach Braunschweig by train or bus (~1 hour and ~2 hour for Hannover and Berlin respectively).
Train station: It is possible to reach Braunschweig train station using DB trains from anywhere in Germany and international connections to Denmark, Netherlands and Belgium.
Accommodation: we suggest you look for something suitable to your expectation in Braunschweig city center. You can easily commute using the public transport system (bus and tram link timetable below) or rent a bicycle.

bus line M19 (direction Hauptbahnhof) from platform A or 436 (direction Braunschweig Flughafen) from platform D
get off at bus stop Gliesmaroder Straße or Bültenweg, then:
either:
by foot via Gliesmaroder Straße or Hans-Sommer-Straße to Beethovenstraße (12 min. walking distance)
or:
from bus stop Gliesmaroder Straße with tram line M3 (direction Volkmarode) until stop Grabenstraße
then approx. 5 min. walking distance. After approx. 500 m turn right (in front of the railway tracks) and follow the route. At the end of the street you will find the Leichtweiß-Institute (six-floors office building and large laboratory hall in back).

TRAM

tram line M2 (direction Siegfriedviertel) until stop Ottenroderstraße
walk down the Ottenroderstraße and turn right at the end of the road into the Beethovenstraße
turn left into the Beethovenstraße after the railway tracks
