Role: Product Manager
Year: 2025
Platform: Web Admin · Native Mobile App
Problem
Fragmented Diagnostic Data & Manual Operations
EV battery diagnostic data was distributed across multiple systems and operational touchpoints, making it difficult to consistently track diagnostic status and history.
Disconnected Operational Workflows
Data flows across diagnostic devices, vehicle data, mobile applications, and back-office systems were not fully standardized, creating operational complexity and limited traceability.
Goal
Build an end-to-end EV battery diagnostic platform and back-office workflow that connects diagnostic data, user-facing services, and operational management into a consistent system.
Built an Integrated Diagnostic & Back-Office Workflow
01. Diagnostic Data Integration
Structured battery diagnostic data collected from vehicles and diagnostic devices so that it could be consistently processed and managed across the service.
02. App & Service Workflows
Designed user and operator journeys for checking diagnostic status and accessing battery assessment results through mobile applications.
03. Admin Management System
Built a centralized back-office platform enabling internal operators and partners to manage diagnostic history, battery assessment data, users, and operational records based on standardized business rules.
Key Execution
Defined clear responsibilities and workflows across the mobile service and back-office platform, including role-based access and operational permissions.
Structured the end-to-end diagnostic process across four layers: Partner App/System, Operations, Admin, and Backend Data.
Translated complex vehicle, diagnostic device, and operational requirements into user flows, functional specifications, business rules, and system requirements.
Defined data relationships and exception scenarios across diagnostic devices, mobile applications, partner systems, and the back-office platform.
Aligned product, design, engineering, and operational stakeholders around a consistent end-to-end service flow.
Impact
Standardized Diagnostic Operations
Consolidated fragmented diagnostic information and operational workflows into a centralized back-office platform, creating a more consistent operating model.
Improved Data Visibility & Traceability
Established a structured way to track vehicle and battery diagnostic records, making diagnostic history easier to monitor, retrieve, and manage.
Reduced Operational Dependency on Manual Processes
Systemized previously fragmented operational tasks and information flows, reducing reliance on manual coordination across teams and systems.
Created a Scalable Operational Foundation
Standardized business rules, permissions, data structures, and exception flows to support more consistent service operations across multiple partners and diagnostic scenarios.
Key Takeaway
For products that connect hardware, vehicle data, user-facing applications, and operational systems, the core product challenge goes beyond UI design.
This project reinforced the importance of defining data structures, business rules, system boundaries, and exception flows first, before translating complex physical-world processes into scalable digital experiences.
