Dr Adam Mathews visiting Fulbright-GSI Scholar jan-July 2025
Dr Mathews is an Associate Professor in the Department of Geography at Binghamton University in the State University of New York (SUNY) system. He is currently a Fulbright Scholar being hosted by the Earth and Ocean Sciences in the School of Natural Sciences at the University of Galway. His teaching and research interests focus on remote sensing and GIS across a variety of environmental applications including in urban areas. His work emphasizes three-dimensional (3D) modeling and analysis using drone-based aerial photography and Structure from Motion (SfM) photogrammetry, and airborne lidar data. He joins the HY-RES team to support ongoing research using drone-based remote sensing to examine 3D dynamics of peatland environments.

Dr Alejandro romero Ruiz visiting researcher 2023
Dr Alejandro romero Ruiz is from Agroscope Zürich, Switzerland. Personal Webpage:
He spend several weeks here on a project to develop a agrogeophysical modelling framework for the detection of soil compaction spatial variability due to grazing using field‐scale electromagnetic induction data . This was published in 2024.
output: paper in Soil Use and Management
