What I know about teaching so far is that it can be very hard but it is rewarding. I understand how hard it could be but also how fun it could be. Personally, I have always wanted to be a teacher, and knowing what my mom had to go through when she first started teaching has prepared me a little for what is to come. I think understanding all aspects of the teaching profession is important to setting career goals and planning for postsecondary education because it will help you more with understanding your students and how to teach, and your students will gain a better learning experience if you are more confident in what you teach.
Teaching requires patience and persistence but it is a very exciting profession. Teaching is very special because you could make such a huge impact on a student for them to remember their whole lifetime. I understand how much more impactful and meaningful teaching really is. I feel like I still have a lot to learn in my journey to becoming a teacher. I have to gain more confidence if I want to teach students. I need to gain more patience and empathy so I can relate to and respect the students. I need to work harder instead of slacking off which is a huge problem for me, there is no time for me to take useless breaks between work.

A teacher needs to know the material they are teaching as well as emotionally and mentally being there for their students. I think I would be able to be there for my students however, I think I need to be able to study and understand the material. I want to be a teacher because it’s been my dream ever since I was young.
I understand that there is a lot of skills you must acquire to go into the education or teaching industry. You must be comfortable with numerous roles, work well with your colleagues and students, exhibit professionalism, dealing with conflict and much more. I feel like I still need to learn quite a lot since I have never really had real hands on experience with teaching.

Understanding human growth and development is important because as a teacher, you have to know your students abilities and where their knowledge lies. By knowing this, it helps you teach them what they need to learn so that they can move on to their next teacher knowing what they have to. Every kid works differently though, some kids understand thing faster while for other, it may be more difficult to learn and understand things. You must teach in a way that helps the students individually as well as together. Some students may need more help than others which means you have to be open and willing to spend more time with them to help them understand the material that is being taught. Social and emotional development are usually tied together. It helps a student be more socially and emotionally aware to the people and things around them. They acquire the skill of empathy, the levels of it depending on the student. Empathy is a very important skill to have since it helps with communication and understanding a person. Physical development is also important for students of younger ages. They must be taught these things at a young age so they are able to move on their own. They need help in the beginning but will soon be able to walk, run, move, etc. on their own.
Child Observation: Froebel and Blocks
What learning objectives when it comes to mathematics are being met?
Almost all of them, the blocks help the kids meet the math standards in a more fun and interesting way.
What other learning objectives are being met? In other areas of learning? Such as social emotional, gross motor, science, etc.?
Social skills are being met because some of the kids are working together to build the blocks.
What were some challenges you noticed and how did the children/child work through that?
Sometimes they would have to find the area or perimeter of the blocks or would have to get it to a certain number so they would move around the blocks and try and figure it out.
In what domains does block building meet the math standards?
It meets the standard of knowing how to count numbers and being able to add and subtract them.
Why should EVERY early childhood classrooms have blocks?
Blocks help children learn math as well as problem solving in easy that are fun and easier to remember for them.
