Everyone brought a soup that represented part of their culture. It was a really fun way to connect with others, learn about different traditions, meet new people, and try a variety of homemade soups. People shared stories about their soups and why they were meaningful to them, which made the event informational and tasty!

Today we played Salad Bowl, cooking-style! We split into small groups, and each of us chose two things related to cooking and put them into a hat. We took turns guessing what the ingredients were. Then we used one word to describe each item and in the final round we acted it out!
Learning to make a home-cooked Chipotle bowl from scratch. Chipotle has a variety of different techniques that go into making one of their unique bowls. Within this we learned cool tricks for cutting onions, avocados, and other vegetables, along with seasoning and cooking the chicken. As an entirety we agreed that home-cooked chipotle was much tastier than the "real thing"
Time to prep for Halloween! Today we spent the evening decorating spooky cookies while watching the Nightmare Before Christmas together. It was a fun way to destress before midterm week and meet some new people.
Palak Paneer is a North Indian dish made with a spinach purée, Indian Cheese, and flavorful spices. Some of the officers stayed in the back to help cook and serve this delicious dish with a side of naan. From bonding over a scavenger hunt to sharing roommate horror stories to being served food, we had a lot of fun. In the upcoming weeks, we plan to host an Intro To Cooking Class and a general meeting with fun activities.
The Husky Culinary Club is the only hands-on cooking RSO at the University of Washington. We have a team of officers who love socializing and talking about food. Membership is free, but we do ask that you fill out an application on our website so we can improve our club.This year we plan to do officer dining-out events where, after general meetings, officers and members can meet up at a café and get to know each other better. It’s a fun way to ask questions about school, cooking, and connect with others.Our past hands-on events have included making homemade pasta, pizza, kimchi, brownies, and cookies. Our upcoming event is on October 3rd, and it will be making palak paneer from scratch!
Nothing is better than doing it yourself! This fermented frenzy was quite fun! Participants learned what goes into a traditional kimchi, as well as the techniques and steps to making it themselves!

Love was in the air! Here our assistant culinary director Zoe executed a beautiful three course meal of blue-cheese apple salad with roasted walnuts and a champagne vinagrette and creamy tuscan pasta with sundried tomatoes! Our baking officers Kate and Laasya whipped up some lovely red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting.
New Year, new events! To kick off 2025, members in this event made a quick homemade pizza dough and sauce and topped it off with their favorite ingredients. (Sorry, we forgot to take more pictures!)

We started the 2024 school year with Pasta Night! Participants at this event got to experience a hands-on lesson on how to make their own pasta dough, as well as playing in some fun pasta-related activities and bonding with other participants.

With the quarter winding down, we at the HCC wanted to host something relaxed! Participants were able to decorate some Christmas sugar cookies as well as watch the movie Elf. We've got some real amazing decorators here!

This was our first event as a true RSO! We couldn't have done it without you all. In this event, we learned about the rich history of curry across the world as well as a demonstration on how to properly make Japanese curry!

We know as college students, cooking is a luxury not all of us can afford. In this event, we demonstrated some ways to improve standard instant ramen!
Participants were shown three different ways to enhance their ramen, all with varying levels of effort.

Ever wonder what the food in the movie Ratatouille tasted like? In this event, participants were able to enjoy a three course meal of Ratatouille, garlic french bread, and crème brûlée with a strawberry glaze paired with a viewing of the namesake movie.
