Christopher Anderson (Coach Chris) is a proud Philadelphia native, and that’s where his love for sports first took root. Growing up and playing ball in Philly taught him the value of hard work, grit, and teamwork, qualities that have shaped not only how he played, but how he coaches today.
Chris has been coaching for over 20 years across a variety of sports, including football, track and field, baseball, and basketball. Over that time, he's had the privilege of working with athletes at many different levels, helping them grow both on and off the court.
Before joining the Andover Girls Basketball program, Chris spent several years leading a successful JV program built around discipline, teamwork, and personal growth.
For Chris, coaching has never been just about wins and losses, it’s been about developing confident, respectful, and resilient young adults who understand the value of effort, accountability, and character. He takes pride in connecting with his players, pushing them to reach their potential, and helping them see that the lessons they learn in sports carry far beyond the game.
Off the court, Chris is blessed with an incredible support system. His wife, Sarah, and him have been married for 20 years, and they've raised four amazing kids, Shayla, Marcus, TJ, and Brynna.
Recently, their family grew again with the arrival of their first granddaughter, which has been an absolute joy and a reminder of the legacy they're building together.
Coaching is his passion, and every season is a new opportunity to teach, to learn, and to inspire. Rooted in Philadelphia toughness and fueled by a love for player development, Chris is excited to bring his energy, experience, and leadership to the Andover basketball community.
