At a school of more than 46,000 students, the importance of finding a community cannot be overstated. Every student coming through UW should get more than just a world class education. College is a time for us to build relationships and build community. Social and emotional health is a major determinant of academic success and the key to building the extracurricular support system necessary to thrive in college is community. I am running for ASUW Director of Community Relations to center community building on ASUW’s agenda and ensure ASUW is seen as a resource around campus.
As the Founder of the Lettuce Eating Club and Vice President of the Dawg Pack Executive Board for the last two years, I have built community through athletics and through mutual love of iceberg lettuce. I have always strived to make every student feel included and as your next Director of Community Relations I promise to continue to do so by:
Bringing back the ASUW Dawg Pack Advisory Committee.
Working closely with RCSA representatives and HFS to ensure RAs are able to be a resource for on-campus students.
Advocating for commuter and transfer student-specific programming.
Streamlining communication between ASUW and IFC & Panhellenic.
