Introduction
Hush (“we”, “our”, “the App”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and your rights. By using Hush, you consent to the practices described in this policy.
Key points — quick summary
No user accounts: Hush does not require or use user registration. There is no account sign-up inside the App.
Purchases and credits: Credits purchased inside the App are stored locally on your device. If you delete the App or clear the App data, locally stored credits will be lost and cannot be recovered. Purchases are handled by the App Store / Google Play; however consumable credits stored locally are not automatically restored by the store.
Microphone: Hush requests microphone access only for features that require it (e.g., audio capture). Microphone access is requested via device permissions and only used with your explicit consent.
Payment data: Payment transactions are handled through the app stores or third-party payment processors; we do not collect or store your raw payment card details on our servers.
Analytics & crash data: We may collect anonymous or aggregated usage and crash data to improve the App.
Information we collect
Our application uses a device-specific anonymous identifier (Unique Device ID) to improve user experience, manage subscription rights, and track in-app credits. This data does not contain any personal information (name, email, etc.) and is stored solely on our servers for the purpose of protecting your rights.
a) Technical and usage data
Device model, OS version, App version, crash logs, and anonymous usage statistics (which screens/features are used). This helps us diagnose issues and improve the App.
b) Microphone / audio (permissioned)
When you grant microphone permission for an audio feature, the App can access the microphone while the feature is in use. Unless explicitly stated in a feature, audio captured by the microphone is not recorded or stored long-term. (If your app does record audio or uploads it, state exactly how, for how long, and where it is stored.)
c) Payment and purchase info
We do not store raw payment credentials. Purchases are processed by the platform store (Apple/Google). We may store a record of the purchase transaction (for example: amount, date, purchase type) locally or in our analytics to reconcile credits. Remember: credits are stored locally; uninstalling the app removes them.
d) User-provided content (optional)
Any files or profile images you upload or provide may be stored if you use features that allow uploading. If you do not use such features, we do not collect media files.
How we use information
Provide and operate the App’s core features (playback, audio functionality, credit purchases).
Improve the App via performance metrics, crash reports, and feature usage analysis.
Respond to support requests and troubleshoot issues.
Fulfill legal obligations when required.
Payments and credits — important
Payment processing: All monetary transactions are processed by the App Store / Google Play or third-party payment providers; they manage the payment credentials.
Local credits: Credits you buy in the App are saved locally on your device. They are not tied to an online account, and therefore:
If you delete or reinstall the App, or clear the App data, locally stored credits will be lost.
If you change devices, credits will not transfer automatically.
Consumable purchases may not be restorable; restore behavior depends on the purchase type (consumable vs non-consumable) and platform. We recommend keeping records (receipts) from your platform account if you need proof of purchase.
Sharing & third parties
Service providers: We use third-party service providers for analytics, crash reporting, hosting, and other infrastructure. These providers process data on our behalf and are contractually obligated to only use data to provide services to us.
Legal requests: We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or to protect our rights.
Advertising partners: If present, advertising SDKs may collect information per their own policies (we will disclose any such integrations here if used).
Microphone and audio handling details
The App explicitly requests microphone access only for features that require it. The permission prompt will show a message (configured in app.json) explaining why the App needs access.
Unless a feature explicitly records and stores audio, microphone input is used for immediate processing only (e.g., capture for on-device processing) and is not retained. If you add features that record/upload audio, you should update this policy to say where audio is stored, how long, and how to delete it.
Data retention
We retain data only as long as necessary to provide the App and meet legal obligations. Local credits persist on-device until spent, cleared, or the App is removed. Usage data and logs may be retained in anonymized form for analysis.
Security
We apply reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect personal data. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. Please exercise care when sharing personal information.
Children
The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe your child provided us with personal information, contact us and we will take steps to remove it.
Your rights & choices
Access and correction: If you want to request access to data we hold about you, or correct it, contact us.
Deletion: Since the App does not create server-side user accounts, most data is local and can be deleted by uninstalling the App or by using in-app controls when available. If we do store any personally identifying information on servers, you may request deletion where applicable.
Opt-out: You can disable analytics (if we provide an opt-out) or decline microphone permissions to prevent related features from working.
International transfers
Data may be processed in the country where our service providers operate. By using the App you consent to such transfers.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will indicate the effective date at the top. Significant changes will be communicated through the App or via your provided contact information if applicable.
