Bayou LaFourche Band of Biloxi-Chitimacha-Choctaw

The governing body of the Bayou Lafourche Band is the Tribal Council and the Council of Elders. The Tribe is located along Bayou Lafourche in Lafourche Parish, Louisiana.

Lafourche des Chetimachas means Fork of the Chitimachas, and was named after the Chitimachas who were the original inhabitants of this area, along with the Ouacha and Chaouacha Indians.
