My professional goals and interests include a wide range of jobs and experiences in the sports media world. Personally, any job in sports would be a good fit for me, and I have multiple goals and paths, any of which I would be pleased to have accomplished when looking back on my career. The three top sports I would be interested in covering are: hockey, soccer, and football. I have always had a passion when it comes to writing, broadcasting, or podcasting about these sports. I am not shy of leaving the United States to cover sports in other countries, or during the Olympic games.
One of my dream jobs would be working as a play-by-play commentator for an NHL team. I like the idea of being a part of a small or large market team, allowing me to be based in one city, commentating for one team, and really connecting with the fans, community, and my coworkers. Another dream job for me would be covering the Premier League in England. Working for an American network that broadcasts the games for those in America would be the best fit for me. Examples include CBS sports, Working for ESPN, or NBC sports. When it comes to my dream, I am open to any adventure. Working for any network or team and covering sports is my dream. Whatever opportunities that brings along, I will accept with open arms.
All throughout my life, I have always followed a wide variety of sports. Getting to where I want to be in life, and having my dream job will take time, and will most likely include having to climb the ladder. When it comes to the next five years I see myself working for a smaller club soccer team. This could be an MLS team, or working for a network that covers soccer such as FOX sports. One of the best ways to work your way up to television is starting out with radio. I can also see myself in five years working as the radio play-by-play announcer for a team in the NBA, or NHL. Moving forward ten years from now, I hope to be breaking into the television field. Until I reach my dream job, I will be looking to accept any opportunity that comes my way. I view all experience as being good, and I will be looking to put my talents to use.
