I believe that as far as inventions go, while potentially hundreds of people are a part of designing something new, for example the Tesla coil, the person who gets credited for the invention ends up being the last person involved in the process. This is because from an outsiders perspective, that person is the one who put all the pieces together. All the contributors to the Tesla coil made very small steps in advancing the scientific knowledge base needed for Tesla to put it all together.


Personally, I don't want to be famous. Being held responsible for everything I do by millions of people seems terrifying and I want to live a life where I can maintain a decent degree of privacy.
