"we owe so much to our communities."

“Waking up every day and seeing the beauty in the world around me, in every object, gives me a passion for life. Working hard drives me, too. I loved to learn in high school, and I tried to do really good in school, and after I became a mechanical journeyman. I worked hard. I have worked 180 hours in two weeks before. I’ve worked in factories, plants, and other industrial places as a mechanical and electrical consultant, and I am driven to figure out how things work all the time. In daily life as I would drive past different machines I happened to see, I would try to visualize how they work, you know, to keep the mind sharp. But then when I became paralyzed some years ago, that all came to a stop. Now I’m disabled. So I teach my kids about hard work, and I teach them about the importance of giving back to your community, too, because that is also important. We owe so much to our communities. I care about my kids, and I also care about my fellow citizens. We all have the same organs and body, it’s just our exterior that makes us different.”
