First and foremost, the LGBTQ+ community is comprised of humans vying to be accepted and recognized as truthful members of society. They are beings who feel, think, and function just as amazingly as heterosexuals. The labels they are fighting for are not their defining factor nor is it their only attributes that make them worthwhile - they are human beings trying to get by and striving to be respected. A member of the LGBTQ+ Community is more than a stereotype because these labels are mere representation of the vast minorities often forgotten and neglected.

Queer is an umbrella term for people who are not heterosexual or are not cisgender. Originally meaning 'strange' or 'peculiar', queer came to be used pejoratively against LGBT people in the late 19th century.
