Research Professor

Dr. Jungjin Kim

I got a Ph.D. of Biological & Agricultural Engineering from University of Idaho, USA. My research focuses on assimilating massive volumes of data, hydrologic modeling, numerical modeling, grazing management impacts on hydrological conditions and cabon sequestration, the impacts of climate and land-use changes, water resources management, LID/BMP evaluation, parallel computation, and drought prediction/visualization. I have a good knowledge of hydrologic modeling (e.g. HSPF, L-THIA, SWAT, VIC) for water quality and quantity predictions. I also have excellent computer programming skills (e.g. R, C++, MATLAB, Python, JavaScript) for the big data analysis.

Graduate Students

Taekyung Kim

I majored in Environmental Engineering at Kwangwoon University, and I am pursuing my PhD here at SeoulTech. I am trying to further enhance my knowledge of and expertise in hydrologic modeling, which I have used for predicting water quality and quantity from a watershed to help stakeholders have informed decisions.

Juseong Lee

I got a bachelor’s degree in water resources from the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point and completed a master's degree in hydrological modeling from SeoulTech. Non-point Source(NPS) pollution monitoring and the impacts of climate and land-use changes on the watershed are my research interests. I hope to learn more about sociohydrology and surface water modeling.

Minah Kim

I got a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering from the Seoul National University of Science and Technology. Socio-hydrological resilience and its application to sustainable watershed management are my research interests. Hope I can learn more about interesting and exciting things during my master's.

Dahoon Lee

I got a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering from Hanbat National University. Water quality data analysis and watershed modeling with various physical models are my research interests. Looking forward to learning more about data analysis techniques and environmental models at the various scales.

Sonali Kamble

I am a passionate environmental engineer currently pursuing a doctoral degree at SeoulTech after completing my master's at Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth, Rahuri, India, specializing in Soil and Water Conservation Engineering. My research interest was in leveraging remote sensing and satellite imagery to improve economic productivity in canal command areas and other factors within the watershed. Now, I am particularly intrigued by socio-hydrology within watersheds, exploring the intricate interplay between human dynamics and hydrological processes. My goal is to uncover innovative solutions that align environmental sustainability with societal progress, fostering a harmonious and resilient coexistence.

Dr. Daejung Kim

I conducted research on product innovation (technology and design), technological innovation and sources of innovation at the Graduate School of Technology & Innovation Management at Hanyang University. My research interests at SeoulTech include the evolution of environmental technology and the prediction of future environmental technologies, integrating the study of environment and technology.

Jaehyeong Kim

I am a senior student in an integrated BS/MS program at SeoulTech and an undergraduate intern now in the Environmental Modeling Lab. I am struggling to learn more about environmental modeling approaches, e.g., Budyko framework and Load Duration Curve.
