A secondary school can enrol up to 40 students of any Form level in the contest.
All students must attend free pre-contest workshop(s) at their school comprising four contact hours.
The school's teacher-in-charge will collaborate with the contest organizer to develop the problem scenario(s), adjudication team and prize allocation.
The school is responsible for securing a venue and computers, taking attendance and video recording the workshop etc.
The workshop dates are negotiable between July 2025 and April 2026.

Students will explore design thinking and vibe coding concepts.
Students will receive an authentic English language learning problem scenario, be guided through a design process and individually or in groups vibe code an application.
Students will present their app to teachers and answer any questions.
Students must submit their app on a Google Form.
Students must attach the app and EITHER the chatbot conversation to create the app OR the screen recording
Failure to follow any contest rules will result in disqualification.
Dr Woo will assess the functionality of your app (i.e. do all the buttons work?) and its coherence (i.e. does the intended design match the actual product?) (50% weighting)
Your teacher(s) will assess the utility of your app (i.e. will your teacher(s) actually recommend your app to their students for the problem scenario?) (50%)
In case of any dispute, the judges' decision is final.
$1500 in book coupons will be awarded to individual and group category winners. Teachers-in-charge determine the number of places (e.g. 1, 2, 3).
Winning submissions will be published on the competition website.
All participants will receive certificates.
