To enhance students' competence to design, vibe code and present English learning apps for authentic English learning scenarios
A secondary school can enrol students of any Form level in the contest.
If more than five students from your school would like to attend, please contact the organizers to see if there are sufficient seats. Thank you!
Your students should work together as a group.
All students must attend the workshop at Education University of Hong Kong comprising four contact hours. Teachers need not attend.
Education University has provided a venue and computers. Students can also bring their own device (e.g. laptop, iPad, smartphone etc.)
The contest starts at 09:00 sharp and doors open at 08:30. Students will sign in at the door.
To enrol your school, teachers-in-charge kindly complete the registration form by June 22, 2026: forms.gle/p1uw933Vgm2Rr9T1A
Students will explore design thinking and vibe coding concepts.
Students will receive an authentic English academic writing problem scenario, be guided through a design process and each team will vibe code an application.
Groups will present their app to teachers and answer any questions.
Groups will then use a vibe-coded app to write an English academic text.
Best Presentation -- winners decided and announced by the teacher panel at the workshop
Best Paper -- winners announced by the teacher panel after the workshop
Students' Choice -- winners decided by students at the workshop
$10,000 in book coupons will be distributed.
Winning entries will be displayed on the contest website.
All participants will receive certificates.
In any case of dispute, the organizers' decision is final.
