The perfect symbolism of a region‘s culture is their local residents—the farmers. I was born and raised in Region 4A, CALABARZON and I have noticed that this region is rich in their nature treasures. The farmers who are the face of fruits and vegetables, illustrate how I convey in an abstract way the culture of this region.
This poster gives off a fun and festive vibe, proudly inviting everyone to explore CALABARZON. The bright colors, flags, and hand-drawn elements show love for Filipino culture and make it feel warm and personal. It’s a simple but heartfelt reminder to appreciate local traditions and celebrate where we come from.
This poster represents the beautiful region of Calabarzon, where nature’s horizons begin. It reflects my thoughts on how I see Calabarzon in this generation. I chose this theme to explore what Calabarzon is most known for and to discover the true beauty that lies within this remarkable region. By doing this I gained more knowledge about Calabarzon and appreciate the beauty of this.
For my poster, I planned it before doing it because that is the first that I'll be using real colors and the theme should be your chosen region. While I was doing it, I was having a hard time mixing colors because as far as I remember—I used oil pastels for that, but I went out great for my second PETA.
This project is both fun and challenging. I find this fun as I enjoy having a time for drawing and coloring each part of it. On the other hand, I also find this as challenging where time constraints are always there. In addition, as a person who’s not excellent in arts, I find it hard when I have to draw complex images. At the end of the day, it’s still a good project to learn on.
My poster introduces the beauty of Cavite City. In this poster, I include some of the great things that represent our city, like the Traditional Baby Bus, the Musical Band of Cavite, and the tourist spot in Kawit Cavite which back then is where Emilio Aguinaldo lived. Despite the struggle and my reluctance to color, I’m actually proud of how the artwork turned out. It looks lively and full of different elements that reflect creativity. I learned that doing something you don’t like can still lead to results you love.
This lively piece of artwork portrays the spirit of Imus, Cavite. The childlike sketches of hills, sun, and flowers create a feeling of happiness and local pride. The bold typography of "Imus, Cavite" makes the subject of the artwork unquestionably clear. The addition of a little girl indicates a personal connection to the place. Overall, the artwork is a happy and expressive portrait of Imus, Cavite, full of youthful energy and local character.
Drawing a poster slogan about CALABARZON made me realize how special my home region is. I wanted to showcase its various art forms from every province, so I incorporated it on every part of what resembles a map of CALABARZON. I thought that it would be a cool layout. It was fun to think of a simple and catchy phrase that could make others proud of CALABARZON too. I ensured to set a reminder to embrace our diversity in arts and culture. This activity helped me appreciate more what makes my region unique and important.
During the process of making the poster/slogan, it wasn’t very challenging for me because I chose to draw my home province, where I was born, along with its regions, to showcase the beautiful views and rich heritage of Marinduque. I actually enjoyed making it, since my goal was to highlight what our province has to show.
This artwork promotes our region, CALABARZON. It features symbols that represent our area, like the tourist spot, in Kawit where Emelio Aguinaldo lived, and the beautiful Taal Lake. I also included the local fruits and popular pasalubong to show our culture. I hope this piece helps others appreciate the history and beauty of CALABARZON and encourages them to visit and explore.
For our poster slogan, I contributed to the artwork and helped show the pride and culture of our region. Even if my part was simple, I felt proud to be part of it. I learned that small efforts can still make a big impact, and it made me appreciate our identity more. This activity also helped me see how art can be a powerful way to express our love for our roots.
One of my weaknesses is drawing, even though my dad loves it, it's never been a hobby of mine. My poster of Calabarzon is more like a kindergarten for me, even though I'm so big, I only know basic drawings.
Cavite's pride in being a historical home of heroes and a nurturing environment for artists is eloquently captured in this work of art. The balance between artistic expression and cultural legacy is emphasized by the use of patriotic colors alongside artistic symbols like the paintbrush, palette, and globe. It acts as a reminder that, similar to bravery, creativity is crucial to the growth and inspiration of our communities.
A successful slogan is always tailored to its target audience and the context in which it appears. A slogan for a children's toy will differ greatly from one for a luxury car, reflecting the different values and aspirations of each target market. The overall design of the poster also plays a crucial role in how the slogan is perceived.
My slogan reflects CALABARZON’s growing role as a powerful tool of development in the Philippines—one that does not leave people behind. "Connecting communities" speaks to the region’s strong sense of unity across different provinces.
“Creating opportunities” highlights the region’s economic strength, from industrial zones in Cavite and Laguna, to the tourism treasures of Batangas and Quezon, to Rizal’s growing creative and urban spaces. It captures the region’s commitment to inclusive growth—offering pathways for livelihood, education and innovation.
The slogan isn’t just a tagline—it’s a vision of CALABARZON as a bridge between tradition and transformation, uniting people and giving them opportunities and progress.
Throughout the process of creating my artwork, I researched and learned various things about my own region, and I was also able to integrate the things I grew up with in my art. It helped me express what I grew up with, and learn more about it through the various things and ways I can illustrate these things within my art. Overall, it was not only an insightful experience, but also an amazing outlet for the things I grew up seeing.
I am terrible when it comes to creativity. Especially with using a different art medium, I find this Performance task difficult. This PETA has been a challenge for someone like me who doesn't color. Despite my struggles, I was successful with my Poster, yet I do not consider this my best output.
My poster is actually very meaningful for me. It expressed the festive side of CALABARZON that highlighted its shining glory and legacy in the Philippines, which contributed to the gleeful characters of Filipinos.
I also highlighted the rising shades of colors to represent the value of festivals and farmers across the country.
In accordance to my experience, I enjoyed creating this poster and I was very proud of the outcomes especially how the elements are in harmony as well as the colors. Whilst researching for any ideas, I have seen the radiant smiles of Filipinos when they create art for their community, It helped me realize that the art of festivity is imperative for our tradition and values.
Ever since elementary, whenever there is a poster making competition in our school, I would always join. Drawing was the root of my creativity and where my passion for arts blossomed. Therefore, when I was doing this, it felt as though I was a kid again who is excited to make another poster, except this time, I am not competing. I did not know how much I missed this until it became our performance task. It brought back so many memories.
Compared to our other performance task--the self-portrait--this one was so much easier for me. I had always liked creating slogans and bringing the beauty of each letter with a stroke of design, so I had so much fun with this task. I incorporated various elements that allowed me to fully get the message across; CALABARZON is a very diverse, fun, and colorful region.
All in all, not only was this a performance task that brought me joy, it also helped me be able to see the beauty of the region I was born in by tasking me to create something that would highlight it.

I had so much fun in making this PETA. From conceptualising the idea to actually doing it, was a fun and great experience. I didn't draw just for the sake of requirement to the subject, but I draw to bring life and inspiration to my hometown—Bicol.

My poster slogan, “A Heart for Nature, a Soul for Culture,” reflects the beauty and pride found in Bohol. Through vibrant colors and local symbols like the Chocolate Hills, I wanted to show how nature and culture go hand in hand in shaping identity. As a HUMSS student, this activity helped me realize the importance of promoting and preserving what makes each place unique. The mix of green and earthy tones reminds us to stay rooted in our environment and heritage.
Despite the difficulty I faced in creating the poster, this artwork allowed me to explore and appreciate the rich culture and heritage of my region, specifically CALABARZON. At first, I struggled with capturing the intricate details of my references, as well as handling the watercolor painting. I searched for the right reference to guide my work, and in doing so, it made me ruminate on how crucial it is to recognize and embrace the pulchritude of the region I call home.
For our poster slogan about CALABARZON, I had a big vision for what I wanted to do, but I ended up with something really simple since I didn’t have enough coloring materials at the time. Honestly, I didn’t like how it turned out and I still wish I could redo it. But even though my artwork didn’t come out the way I hoped, I still learned a lot about what makes each province in CALABARZON special. Some festivals and features were so them, and it made me appreciate our local culture even more.
For my “Poster Slogan”, I wanted to put multiple kinds of artistic products from region 4A that showcases culture like wood carvings or barongs. In the end, I settled with the “Santacruzan” festival. I thought that showcasing the women of the Philippines is a great way to show “art”
I came up with the idea of drawing the flag of Philippines with three circles. The three circles contain the culture of the filipinos. Making the slogan makes me happy because I can show what I can do using my own arts.
My poster slogan was based on reality and a dream—envisioned with tradition and creativity. I was able to execute a wonderful place, a tourist spot, and it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is a testament to the ingenuity of the Ifugao people, who carved them into the mountainous landscape centuries ago. With my creativity and love for our province—I have created that for me was a masterpiece. Fostering my adoration and appreciation infused with my creativity. The outcome became great with my own unique thoughts.
Honestly, while making this poster slogan that symbolizes the "yaman" of CALABARZON, I faced many challenges. I lost motivation at first because I’m not confident in drawing. But since tracing is something I’m more comfortable with, I relied on that to help me finish the task. I also added a soft background to make it look more complete, even if the overall design was simple. In the end, I was proud of what I made because I didn’t give up, no matter how hard it was. I even got the grade I was expecting based on how I viewed my own work—and thankfully, it was still a good one.
I chose to make a poster about CALABARZON because it’s a region with a lot of different and unique kinds of art. Each province has its own special style, whether it’s in crafts, festivals, or traditions. Doing this task helped me realize that art isn’t just paintings or drawings, it’s a part of everyday life and culture. It made me think about how important it is to support and recognize what makes each place special. Art connects people to their roots and keeps traditions alive.
I definitely had fun while making the poster slogan, but I was also exhausted because I was really pushing the limits of my creativity to come up with something good. It took me around five hours to finish because I kept going back and forth, trying to decide on the right design and color scheme. Despite how challenging it was, I’m still proud of the final result.
I chose the Davao Region because I have witnessed it with my own eyes, and I already know a lot about this region. First of all, there is a wide variety of art, culture, fruits, and especially indigenous people here in Davao, which is why I can truly say it is "The Heartbeat of Philippine Art." I admit that the process was difficult and it took me four days to complete, but I really loved doing it.
As the creator of this drawing, I feel a real sense of pride showcasing Cavite City in such a colorful way. I wanted to pack in all the things that make our city special, from its history symbolized by the old building and the "history" banner, to the vibrant culture hinted at by the masks and the musician. The bright sun represents the warmth and joy I feel for this place. It was a true pleasure bringing together all these elements to show how art and history truly unite here. This piece is my personal celebration of Cavite City.
This activity was challenging. Putting your mind into different kinds of efforts such as rhyming the words, drawing, and creativity is undeniably challenging. I enjoyed doing it because it somehow made me find my way back to my old hobbies. And reflecting to that, I realize that a burnout kid (for me) just needs time to go back again and try.
Contemplating the theme Save the Earth made me think more about how we, as a greater society, portray the world and our environment. With everything going on around us, it is very easy for one to ignore the damage that is being incurred because of pollution, deforestation, and climate change, something that brings great concern. At the same time, these results are also motivating
My poster slogan was very well done because it represented beautiful places or regions in the Philippines. I passed it quite late, hehe but I still got good grades from Ma'am Nareth.
