Most Hulu account trouble doesn’t come from anything dramatic. It’s usually a bill you didn’t expect, a password that won’t reset, or a setting that’s hiding somewhere you haven’t looked. This page is for those moments. Read the short stories below, and if one sounds like you, you may find your answer right away. If not, tell us what’s going on.
The mystery charge.
Someone spots a charge on their card and can’t tell what it’s for. The cause is often that the bill comes from somewhere else, such as an app store, a phone carrier or a bundle with another service, so the Hulu account page shows nothing. Before you do anything, check where your subscription was started. Our guide on updating billing explains how to tell.
The reset email that never comes.
The person types their email, waits, and nothing arrives. Usually the email is a different one from the one used to sign up, or the message went to spam. Trying your other addresses and checking the junk folder solves most of these.
The cancel that didn’t cancel.
Someone cancels in one place and still gets charged, because the plan was billed through another company. The cancellation has to be done where the billing is. Keep any confirmation message, and note the date.
If one of these sounds familiar, you’ve probably just saved yourself a message. If not, keep reading.
Your account page has several sections, and each one answers a different kind of question.
Plan: shows what you have and what it includes.
Billing: shows how you pay and when the next charge happens.
Devices: shows where you’re signed in, and lets you sign a device out.
Profiles: shows who uses the account and lets you rename or remove people.
Privacy and password: shows your login details and settings.
Spend two minutes in the right section before writing to anyone, including us. It often turns out the answer was one tap away.
You don’t need special words. Write it the way you’d tell a friend who’s good with tech. The most helpful messages usually cover:
What you wanted to do, such as change your plan or stop a charge
What happened, including any message you saw on the screen
Where your bill comes from, if you know: Hulu directly, an app store, a carrier or a bundle
What you’ve already tried, so we can skip the obvious steps
Then use the button at the top of this page to send your message.
We read every message and reply with clear, simple steps. If we’re missing one detail, we’ll ask for only that. We’d rather ask one good question than send a long list of guesses.
Most replies go out within one to two working days, and weekends can take a little longer. If a paid option ever applies to your situation, we’ll tell you what it includes and what it costs before you agree to anything.
We’re an independent guide, which means we can explain how things work and point you the right way. We can’t see your Hulu account, change your plan, stop a charge or issue a refund. For refunds, disputed charges, locked accounts or anything that has to be checked against your own records, Hulu’s own website or app is the right place. We also never ask for your password.
Is it free to send a question?
Yes. Sending a message doesn’t cost anything.
Can you see my account or my bill?
No. Only your own Hulu account, or the company that bills you, can show that.
Can you cancel or change my plan for me?
No. Those changes are made from your own account. We can explain the steps.
What if my bill isn’t from Hulu directly?
Then the billing company is the one to change it. Our Home page explains how to spot this.
Is this Hulu’s website?
No. This is an independent guide website.
