SAFETY NOTES

Parents of younger kids, and safety of all:

Our deck has traditional tall railings with a TOP RAIL ONLY, NO SPINDLES on the sides of the deck. In the other areas (seen above) there are BENCHES WITHOUT BASCKRESTS used as the border of the deck, with NO railing above. There are no gates on the deck, which has three sets of stairs with handrails. (The deck might change to decrease our safety concerns prior to booking, and before you arrive.)

If you do not feel this is a safe situation for you, your family, and for anyone at the house, reconsider bidding on the auction, or you may contact us with questions, and to discuss any concerns. We may explore installing TEMPORARY mesh and/or rope railings. This temporary mesh is not intended to replace a railing, or to replace the watchful eye of an adult. The temporary mesh will clearly define the edges of the deck, but may not provide the barrier you may want for babies, fast toddlers and kids who are climbers.

The yard has a wooden fence by the house, but is not fenced along the wood lines or at the water.

Water & Dock Safety:

There is NO FENCE at the shoreline, and the shore is about 200 feet from the deck, down a gentle, grassy slope.

There are no railings on the dock. (see photos) The water is a gradual entry (zero entry) at the shore, but the bottom at the shoreline is muddy, and many prefer to enter the water from the dock. The water is quite shallow at the shoreline, and there is no sudden drop off within 10 feet (or more) of shore, and we are not aware of any drop off. The water on either side of the dock is quite shallow, and the water at the far end of the dock is about 5 feet deep. The water is tidal, so the water changes depth, compared to the dock, somewhat through the day. the water stays zero-entry at the shoreline regardless of the tide.

Please contact us in advance if a Pack 'n Play type portable crib, or baby gate(s) for the flight of stairs inside the house is desired, and we will try our best to accommodate your needs.

One clean, dishwasher safe, highchair & tray, that straps on a chair, is available. Please advise if more are desired.
