after you made a base doll and the clothes, you've got to make the kcf palette before moving on to exporting images to cels. any kcf palette must contain 16 or 256 colors, the first color being the transparent one (i used a 16 color palette for kisumis kiss data). open ultrakiss, go to tools -> image editor (or click the seifuku button) and the image editor will open up. go to file -> open, load your gif and export it as a kcf of any name up to 8 characters/digits. note that EVERY SINGLE FILE in the kiss data (cel, kcf and cnf) and even the lzh archive itself must have maximum 8 characters!!!
now open gimp, load your gif, and trim every piece and export as a kiss cel. for bmp and gif files the color depth must be 8bit, like in 8bit videogames. but if you use truecolor images for your kiss data they will be exported as a 32bit cherry kiss cel.
if your cel will turn out with the colors LIKE THIS then youve gotta get back to grafx2 to fix that! switch to grafx2, add a new layer and move it to the very start, right click the bucket tool and replace fill will show up. fill the lowest layer with any color youd like, save your image, then open your gif in gimp and try again. DONT USE THE GRADIENT TOOL AS THE BACKGROUND. this option will ruin your cels like it did with one of my dolls ive prepared and ultrakiss WILL NOT RECOGNIZE THOSE CELS. so yea.
see how the cel exported in gimp looks like with (right) and without (left) the result?
once your done with your cel and kcf files, you can move on to the grand finale!
