We are excited to be running an Art Therapy for Burn Out Group. As burn out is something that affects most people at one stage in life, whether this be organisation, personal or even political burn out we want to work creatively and collaboratively with people to combat the often detrimental impact of prolonged stress. Recent studies have shown that art therapy can support adults experiencing burnout, emotional exhaustion and work-related stress. Participants reported lower levels of anxiety and a reduction in depressive symptoms following the six-week programme.
The study, titled “Art therapy to reduce burnout and mental distress in healthcare professionals in acute hospitals,” was published in 2025 and led by Megan Tjasink at Queen Mary University of London, in partnership with Barts Health NHS Trust.
