I acknowledge that I am an uninvited settler on Turtle Island.
I grew up in the Qu'appelle Valley on the traditional territory of Očhéthi Šakówiŋ, Blackfoot, Michif Piyii, and Cree in Treaty 4 Territory.
I live, work, learn, unlearn, and play on the traditional and ancestral lands of the Cree, Anishinaabe, Dene, Blackfoot, Nakota Sioux in Treaty 6 Territory and the St. Albert District of the Otipemisiwak Metis Government.
While completing my MET degree, I studied at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver campus on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the Coast Salish Peoples, including the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Səlí̓ lwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh), and Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish) First Nations.
I respectfully acknowledge the contributions that Indigenous Peoples have made and continue to make on their territories. I am grateful to be here and commit to continuing my reconciliation journey as an ally through a spirit of humility, courage, and respect.
