The Hua Project is an international initiative co-founded by three women of Chinese and Taiwanese descent, who aim to raise awareness, conduct research & analysis, and design infographics about sinophobia to confront myths & stereotypes, educate audiences about Chinese culture, and report serious current events.
Motivation
Motivation
Our motivation behind starting the Hua Project was sinophobia: prejudice against Chinese people. Sinophobia has become extremely pervasive in the media, especially after the outbreak of COVID-19. Its influence seeps into society and everyday life, affecting the lives of many civilians all around the world. Seeing the substantial impact and reach of sinophobia inspired us to come together to combat it.
