At Pinetown Boy’s , especially Grades 10 to 12, the focus is on equipping the boys, via subject choices, to enter any field of tertiary study, and the options available to them are varied.
In this phase of the school the emphasis is on encouraging academic excellence in order that pupils are able to gain entry into any South African university on the basis of their results.
Every term learners are awarded based on the results for the term.
There are 3 categories of awards.
Subject awards(Must achieve 80 % and above and the highest A in the subject)
Top 3 in the grade
Academic Blazer awards (awarded only to Grade 12’s at the beginning of the year based on their cumulative results from grade 11). Learners receive a scroll and braiding to adorn their blazer. The following aggregate should be achieved at the end of the year to achieve blazer awards.
