Family Collaborative
LAST MEETIG OF THE YEAR will be on June 13th - 5pm to 6:30pm
What is the HTe Family Collaborative?
It is our Parent Association, and it is important that all HTe families are involved. The purpose of the HTe Family Collaborative is to be an avenue for HTe families to connect with other HTe families, and to become familiar with and involved in the High Tech High community. It was formed to create ways for HTe parents and guardians to be involved in their child’s classroom and support the school.
How Can I Get Involved?
There are several ways to get involved in the HTe Family Collaborative:
Be a Room Parent. Help create enthusiastic connections among Parents & Guardians in each classroom! Recruit other parents to help in classroom, be involved in the Family Collaborative, participate in teacher appreciation events, chaperone field trips, etc. Help your child’s teacher communicate classroom needs to other parents (snacks, supplies, expert helpers, sign up lists etc.). Help create a positive environment for other parent & guardians, who wish to be classroom helpers.
Help Plan Schoolwide Events Work on a committee to create social events that will encourage families to connect with other High Tech families and become involved in the High Tech culture. These events will be primarily no/low cost.
Family Collaborative Meetings These evening gatherings are an opportunity to learn about current student projects, parenting issues, and general school information. Planning for Schoolwide Events also occurs during these meetings.
Director’s Advisory Group This group is made up of a diverse representation of parents & guardians that embody the school’s demographics. Multiple grade levels can be represented. The purpose is to give and get input & feedback to the School Director on a variety of issues (e.g. Title I and LCFF funds, Special Education funding, Communication with Families)
