Our History

In 1957, the Haverford Township School District and the Recreation Advisory Board of the Haverford Township Board of Commissioners engaged in a joint educational venture known as the "Haverford Township Adult Evening Classes."

Due to the success of such educational venture, the Haverford Township Adult School was formed in 1959 as a non-profit, independent corporation with a new name and an all volunteer Board of Directors dedicated to adult community education.

For over 60 years, the HTAS has successfully provided adults from Haverford and surrounding communities with programs that reflect the needs of all educational and personal backgrounds.

A Message from our Board President

Greetings!

My name is Stefanie Hahn and I am your HTAS Board President. I am honored to be at the helm of this established and beloved organization with a team of incredible leaders at my side during a time of significant growth and opportunity.

Our Fall 2024 class line-up is, to be completely honest, AWESOME. Registration opens on Monday, August 19th.

I’ve been on the HTAS board since 2018 and have taken HTAS classes for many years – golf, Italian, tennis, tarot card reading, bee keeping, spinning, history, ceramics, and more. HTAS classes are so much more than learning something new – you’ll make new friends, reconnect with old friends, meet your neighbors, and strengthen your ties to our community.

My husband and I live in the Manoa section of town with our puppy, Darcy. I work for a real estate management company as their Vice President of Operations. Along with my role with HTAS, I serve a board member on the Haverford Township Civic Council.

HTAS is always looking for board members.  I would be honored to work with you to grow this terrific Haverford Township organization.
