What is the HSVC GOTV Strategy?
The following is our strategy for GETTING OUT THE VOTE within our communities in Garland and Saline counties. Our mission, as a non-profit civic engagement organization, calls on us to be champions of a just and equitable society. Voting is one way we can make our voices heard and make change happen. Here's how YOU can get involved !
1) Mobilize for 5: Connect with 5 members of your community and make sure everyone is registered, is informed, and gets to the polls. Help educate your group on voterview, sample ballots, polling locations. Listen to them, and make it fun in ways that suit you. Start with friends and acquaintances and consider adding to your "5" with new connections you make. Early voting starts on Oct 19th. P.S. There will be monthly giveaways at our meetings drawn from those who send an email with their desire to participate.
2) Volunteer at our Voter Registration Tables: As a Coalition, we are leaning into our mission to educate and advocate for this cornerstone of our democracy, exercising the right to vote! Come join us over Aug and Sep, as we plan tables at different settings. The last day to register to vote is Oct 5th. This effort is Non-Partisan. Dates and locations will be announced.
3) Sign-up to Support Voter Access to the Polls: Do you have a vehicle that you feel comfortable driving people to the polls? We are aiming to connect with our Mutual Aid partners on what help their communities might need in getting to the polls. Would you like to volunteer as a Poll Worker? These are opportunities to serve the democratic process to support equal access for all.
We need you! To make our initiative a success, we are calling on our members to contribute where you can. You will be rewarded with a lift in spirit and the gift of connecting with others. Please see the HSVC GOTV Strategy for additional information on our project.
To sign-up, PLEASE SEND AN EMAIL WITH YOUR DESIRE TO PARTICIPATE in one or more of the activities listed here. Include YOUR NAME, YOUR MOBILE NUMBER, and YOUR MAILING ADDRESS (this is so we can send you little notes along the way for inspiration). Send to: hsvcoalition@gmail.com.
