Education is a never-ending process, that is why I believe in the importance of professional development. I believe that the best way to acquire more knowledge, skills, and innovative ways of teaching is to be involved in the world of World Languages.
Being a member of ACTFL ( American Council On The Teaching of Foreign Languages) allowed me to access the latest information, resources, and research about teaching Spanish. Through this organization, I acquire more insight about every step that involve Spanish teaching at all proficiency level. I also attend webinars that help me grow personally and professionally in the field.
I am also a member of the AATSP ( The American Association of Teachers of Spanish & Portuguese) as ACTFL, this Association offers educational webinars and give me access to Hispania, long and short articles on applied linguistics, cultural studies, culture, film, language, linguistics, literary criticism, literature and language pedagogy.
I also attend local conferences as FLANC ( Foreign Language Association of North Carolina) where I explore the best teaching practices from other teachers in the field.
