Dr. Anara Sandygulova, along with her colleagues Dr. Henny Admoni, Dr. Daniel Szafir, and Dr. Wafa Johal, led a workshop titled "Designing an Introductory HRI Course" at the 19th Annual ACM/IEEE International Conference on Human-Robot Interaction (HRI) 2024, held in Boulder, Colorado, USA.
Exciting News! Our new report on autism is now out! The report provides a summary of key findings and recommendations from a national survey and interviews conducted in the summer of 2023 with parents of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in Kazakhstan. The purpose of this report is to explore how children with autism access social and educational services in the country and identify barriers and facilitators to accessing private and publicly funded services (including those provided within the education system) in four regions across Kazakhstan. Our lab took part in Asyl Miras conference “Autism. World is one for all” describing our research and development of robot-assisted autism therapy.
Our team received a highly competitive “Special Prize Award” (among 630+ applicants) for our social robot, MIRAI, sponsored by Visa Kazakhstan.
