Human Resource Development Centre is a centre of excellence conceptualized by the Department of Psychology, The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda and the Behavior Management Group (BMG). It is managed by the faculties and students of the Department of Psychology to provide professional HR services. The faculty members include Dr. Rashmin Sompura, Prof. Urmi Nanda Biswas, Dr. B. S. Parimal, Ms. Geetanjali Roy, Ms. Mansi Jadeja, Mrs. Parisha Jijina Mehta, Dr. Dhvani Patel and Mr. Kashyap Rajput.
The foundation of The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda was laid with Baroda College, established by Sir Sayajirao Gaekwad - III in 1881. The university houses many heritage buildings and under this architectural magnificence, the rich legacy of education was born, developed and is flourishing. Spread over 275 acres of land, the University comprises of 14 Faculties, having 90 Departments, 3 constituent colleges, and various specialization centers and institutions that cater to a range of courses starting from kindergarten to Ph.D. Apart from its emphasis on academic excellence, the University also provides experiences rich in co- curricular and extra-curricular activities. The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda recently received an ‘A’ grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) in the year 2016.
Originating as a Secondary Teachers Training College in 1933, the Faculty of Education & Psychology established its identity in the year 1949, with two Departments, Education and Psychology. The University Experimental School was also created with primary and secondary sections, for the purpose of practice teaching and experimentation. The Department of Education Administration was started in the year 1951. At present, the faculty comprises of the Department of Education, Department of Educational Administration, Department of Psychology, and University Experimental School (Gujarati Medium and English Medium).
The Department of Psychology offers undergraduate, postgraduate and Ph.D. courses in Clinical Psychology, Counselling Psychology, Industrial Psychology and Educational Psychology. As a part of the post- graduation curriculum, the Department has earned a reputation of providing with on- the-job training experience through student placements in local agencies of corporate and service sector organizations, community guidance centers, hospital for mental health, general hospitals, schools, private clinics and NGOs. A unique feature of the Department is its own Counselling Centre, where students are rigorously trained under the supervision of the staff in testing and counselling sessions. The Department also offers part-time Post graduate diplomas in Clinical and Applied Hypnosis, Clinical and Community Psychology and Human Resource Development.
