Basin Electric Power Cooperative supports education and youth development across its nine-state service territory through several key initiatives:
Charitable Giving & Grants: Through its formal Charitable Giving Program, Basin Electric provides funding to educational institutions, non-profits, and community programs. This includes supporting hands-on technical grants, classroom enhancements, and school infrastructure projects.
Scholarship Programs: In partnership with local member cooperatives, Basin Electric awards more than 180 college and vocational-technical scholarships annually to dependent children of member consumers and cooperative employees.
Youth Development & Training Support: The cooperative backs regional workforce pipelines and youth programs, such as contributing to technical training centers (including lineworker training facilities) and supporting local youth leadership initiatives.
