2/12/19: Gov. Walz committed to refiling an appeal of the expansion of the Enbridge Line 3 pipeline.

The Department of Commerce filed the appeal under former Gov. Mark Dayton on the grounds that Enbridge had failed to demonstrate that the expansion was needed to further meet energy demands for the state of Minnesota. Several other tribal and environmental groups also filed appeals. On Tuesday, Feb. 5, the MN Court of Appeals dismissed the appeal on a technicality, granting a 20-day period for filing a Petition of Reconsideration. After hearing from many groups opposed to the Line 3 expansion, Walz announced on 2/12/19 that his administration will re-file the appeal.

Thanks to everyone who engaged in contacting the Walz administration to urge them toward this action! Our efforts are making a difference in the protecting the health of the people of Minnesota.
