Nursing consistently tops Gallup polls as the most trusted profession, and the Nurses Climate Challenge mobilizes these trusted health professionals to educate other health professionals on the health impacts of climate change. Upon signing up for the challenge, Nurse Climate Champions have free access to comprehensive resources to use to host educational events, and join a network of health professionals across the country dedicated to promoting climate solutions. PSR's environment and health arm educates health professionals about the health impacts of climate change and encourages them to further educate the public and lobby policymakers to support clean and renewable energy sources and oppose fracking.
An international medical society for internal medicine specialists and subspecialists, ACP advocates that the health care community engage in environmentally sustainable practices to reduce carbon emissions, support climate change mitigation, and educate others about the health risks posed by climate change. ACP hosts a climate change toolkit with resources on "greening the healthcare sector" and regional talking points for educating patients and the public about the health effects of climate change.
An organization of multiple medical societies uniting their members in raising awareness about the health effects of climate change, promoting workplace sustainability, and advocating for policy to address climate change. The Medical Society Consortium holds annual meetings and offers CME and webinars, and published a comprehensive report on the health effects of climate change in March 2017.
