PROGRAM INFO

From the Director

Hi, I'm Nancy Michael, director of HPTA. When I began in 2018, it was my vision to grow our theatre program beyond the same group of students and to make this a fun and inclusive place for all Highland Park students, regardless of experience or ability. Please contact me if you have any questions or would like to be on our contact list. nancy.michael@spps.org

Theatre classes

Theatre classes at HPSH include Beginning Acting and Intro to Theatre. Both classes provide students with hands on experience and develop strong communication skills and self confidence. From comedy improv to theatre as a means of social justice, classes provide a challenging and fun experience.

After-school Performing

Highland Park Theatre Arts (HPTA) is the after school theatre program at Highland Park Senior High School. Every year, we produce a mix of plays, student directed one acts, and musical(s). Theatre classes are not a prerequisite for performing with HPTA.

Inclusive community

Theatre can and should be enjoyed by all. HPTA is committed to making this a reality through entertaining and relevant shows, a diverse cast, and student direction in all aspects of theatre, from acting to tech to management.
