However, both the Win 8.1 computer and the Win 10 computer have started showing messages about "Unable to scan computer - printer disconnected." These message show up periodically on both computers, and are rather annoying.

This feature does not disable scanning from your computer - this works totally fine. It's only purpose is to to send a scanned document directly to the computer where this service is running when you scan at the printer - which is useless for me, personally.

My solution for this problem was to turn off my printer and turn it back on again. I had two computers that both said that the scan to computer was no longer activated. After I did that, the two different pages I tried to print were immediately printed from the printer. I think the address changed somehow on the printer and it needed to be rebooted back up for the computers to detect it properly. That is what worked for me.

I recently upgraded an older Windows 7 computer to Ubuntu 14.04, and added a new HP OfficeJet 8600 all-in-one printer. The printer works fine, but the scanner is not recognized. Running HP-CHECK states that I am missing packages for PYTHON-SDK, and others, required for "scanner" to work. Can you help? I can scan using another computer, and USB stick transfer, but would prefer direct scanning.

Note the USB port on printer accepted scan, and I could see the memory stick on the main computer (through the printer's USB port.I cannot yet get the scanner to go directly to the computer, but using a memory stick in the USB port is sufficient for me.

Computer is a Windows 10 HP, new deployment small form factor I7, SSD, very nice fast machine. There is a HP 8600 Officejet (n911A) that is existing in the office connected via network connection. The built in Windows 10 drivers do allow me to find and print to the device, however the user wants to scan from the device to the computer.

Just upgraded from Nitro Pro 10. When I try to scan a single page document from the scanner (HP Officejet 8600), there is no file output once the document has gone through the document feeder. I just get the blank gray screen. This was never an issue previously with older version of Nitro. Does anyone know of a fix. What's the point of PDF software if you can't create a pdf file?!?!?!?

In order for me to further assist you with your concern, could you please provide the following?:

Download HP Officejet Pro 8600 driver and software to print and scan from Windows or MAC OS. Below you'll find the direct download links for the HP Officejet Pro 8600 All in one (N911a-n) printer software and drivers for Windows 10, Windows 8/8.1, Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP and Mac OS.

I downloaded the scan driver from the Canon website, and I have "Canon IJ Scan Utility" in my applications. I can open that, but when I try to scan it says Scanner is turned off or USB cable is disconnected. My scanner is on, but I don't have the computer attached to it with a cable. I want to wirelessly scan (just like I can print).

I just purchased a Canon Pixma G7020 and have set it up wirelessly. I have been able to print from my computer but not scan. I downloaded the Scanner Utility and tried to set it up. It's not recognizing the scanner. I get the same message as mentioned in earlier posts.

I tried to scan directly from the printer/scanner itself, using the panel, but that requires saving a scanned image to the computer. Since the machine doesn't work wirelessly, the only save option requires me to connect the machine via a USB cable rather than wirelessly. 006ab0faaa
