Audacity and Adobe Audition are both digital audio editors.
At this point, it might be useful to take a look at the Fair Use and legal guides under Websites on the Resources tab.
Once you have created an audio file, the next step is to upload the audio file to a host. The host will then issue an RSS feed which can be submitted to major platforms such as iTunes or Spotify. This last step is known as syndication.
SoundCloud and Lybsyn (requires payment) are good options for hosting websites. Some blog platforms also have the ability to produce RSS feeds, such as WordPress.
Promote your podcast through social media and blogging. Get your blog started on Wordpress or Wix.
For tips on marketing and monetizing your podcast, check out Pat Flynn's YouTube playlist under videos on the Resource tab.
Podcasters can also copyright or license their work - Creative Commons is a good online resource for copyrights and licenses.
