Waterpack and Toothpack are open to new pups!
Howling Wolves is a small roleplaying community set in (Insert Fancy Wolf World Name). Yep, that's it's name.
Anyone is welcome to participate in this roleplay!
Today is the Great Howl, a time of peace, celebration and worship. Three packs hold this gathering every full moon. Toothpack, an aggressive pack well known for their fighting skills who live within the mountain’s valley. Elkpack, a speedy pack well known for their hunting skills who live to the south of the mountains. Or Waterpack, a friendly pack well known for their fishing skills, who live to the west of the mountains and near No-End Lap.
The Great Howl is held below the Ring of Rock, above the Smaller Stones, and east of Little Lap. It is accessible by all the packs and is a place of peace. If any wolf breaks the truce and fights or argues, they are punished severely. So severely in fact, that some wolves even lose rank.
Rank is of great importance to these three packs.
The Alpha leads a pack with his Beta, or second in command.
After the Beta the Gamma and the Delta. Gamma and Delta are on the same level but they lead different things. The Gamma leads the hunt and the Delta leads the fight.
Below them are the average wolves. Some are better at hunting and some are better at fighting, but they are all subject to the Gamma and Delta equally.
Below the average wolf is the pack’s pups. These are treasured and trained. They are taught by the Gamma, Delta, and Omega.
The very last rank is the Omega. They are the lowest rank and must do the most menial chores such as bed making, cleaning, and babysitting.
The Alphas will share news with the other packs at first at the Great Howl. Then the packs all gather together and eat and share their own news with friends made at these gatherings. Once Moon has risen to her peak, the wolves will howl the night away.
Wolves only howl at special times. When in mourning, at the Great Howl, when Moon makes her disappearance, and in celebration. Some instances are when a pack member dies, a litter of pups are born, a new Alpha comes, and when a pack wins a battle.
There are many battles fought within the packs and without. Usually these are over rank or territory. The Delta may also host a spar, a watched fight, for training purposes. Toothpack enjoys sparing and often does so in their free time.
Recreational things are not common, for the life of a wolf is busy. But when they can packs often enjoy teaching pups, sparing, napping, grooming, and sharing stories.
Wolves are most often found on the hunt or in battle with other wolves. They do not have much time for playing games. Even pups are expected to help out, by doing chores and training with their older packmates.
