Survival was our key focus for this day.
Survival was our key focus for this day.
Our classes learnt the possible impact of global warming, and the effect it would have on society. Working with a variety of materials, students were tasked with building a home fit for the new environment. Students really enjoyed and embraced the challenges and an alternative way of learning. Communicating with our partner groups across Denmark, Belgium, Norway and England was a highlight and really brought to life the global implications of the project.

We learned how to react to the consequences of flooding, how to work with measures and scales, how to design a sustainable house with recycled materials. The students explored different kinds of food to survive on water and energy resources for sustainable houses in flooded areas.

Our students learned how to discover a problem, select an idea in a democratic process, and then develop a prototype.

Our students learned a lot about how to synthesise information and the importance of listening to one another in order to get a grasp of different viewpoints and adjust these based on new information. They did a lot of looking into current problems and imagining solutions for them based on existing research but also very creative problem solving.
