As stated before, the TV Go app is a broadcast additional service. Under VMs broadcast agreements these are intended only for use on mobile & tablet devices that run on internal power. Comparisons with NOW TV are not like for like as it is a standalone any ISP streaming service. A Sky satellite TV subscription does not allow you to use NOW TV, you have to use the Sky Go app, which again only works on mobiles & tablets. There are methods around to side load Sky Go onto a firestick, but its not a common practice.

Using a firestick to stream been fine for a fortnight since I bought it renewed my virgin contract Friday since then it buffers every 2 minutes and 20 seconds for 10 seconds tried hard wiring firestick still same issue. Cleared all caches on firestick and turned off router and back on again still same. Done speed test all good is it a drop in bandwidth?

How To Download Virgin Tv Go On Firestick

YES, it should actually be pretty easy because (IIRC) the Gorgeous Suite has a TV that swings out from the wall. (It's also possible with the regular rooms/TVs but it's fiddly to get the HDMI plugged in. I usually bring a little HDMI extender and leave it plugged in all the time so I can plug whatever I want into it.)

This is how you access the ability to change ports once you have your HDMI device plugged in:

1. Turn on TV

2. Pull the network cable out of the TV

3. WHILE THE NETWORK ERROR IS SHOWING ON THE TV, press the source/input button on the TV remote (it will only work while that error is showing)

4. Switch to your desired HDMI input

5. Plug the network cable back in (don't leave it unplugged, it'll eventually cause an error that someone in the crew will come try to fix).

You'll probably need to repeat this every couple of hours or at every viewing session, sometimes it times out and reverts back to the VV in-room content.

I used my firestick a ton on my last Scarlet cruise in Feb. (I was in a Posh suite so all the TVs swung out, but I've done it repeatedly in regular sea terrace cabins. But I also have small fingers.)

Caveat for Valiant: I've only been on Valiant once, and they have LG TVs, not Samsung. It's possible you need a universal remote that has LG codes to get to the source input button, I don't remember for sure. (I had my universal remote on that cruise and I never checked the in-room remote.)

On Scarlet, you don't need a universal remote, the input button on the in-room remote works fine once you have that error message up by pulling out the network cable.

For whoever is going to see this and be all "*clutch pearls* why do you want to watch TV on your cruise":

My money, my time, my vacation, my choice.

Has anyone found a answer to the above puzzle? Bought a firestick for my son over the weekend (Prime day purchase) and hooked it up to his sky glass 55 in his bedroom, everything works apart from the volume control on the remote

Can you use the sky glass remote for the volume on the fire stick ? Or is it a case that the firestick works with no volume ?

I'm considering getting one but am just checking all options 1st.

Can you watch catch up TV on it? I want to move my front room around and I cba to have a wire put from the Ariel to the TV (door in the way) so thought about cancelling virgin and getting a fire stick instead?

weve got a firestick for our tv in our bedroom, its fab. weve already got netflix and amazon prime so didnt have to pay any subscription fees. a friend of mine bought a 'chipped' one off facebook and it stopped working after a month

I have one in my bedroom.

Have no ariel (do you even need one?!) or anything in bedroom so was either fire stick or getting virgin media out to get a 2nd box in bedroom and faffing with wires etc. This was much easier and quicker and can alway sfind somethin to watch in bed. Either catch up/old box sets or my own stuff that I have bought on amazon anyway.

Love my firestick! Wingedharpy if you have a smart tv I don't think you need the stick - you can just download the apps. If you get Amazon Prime you can get the extra content.

I am very un-techy and find the firestick so easy to use, and we're loving Sons of Anarchy box set! Lots of good kids' films for DC to watch as well.

U said that firestick was ok yes? Virgin box was ok on hdmi 1...yes? Hdmi1 is 2.0 hdmi3 is 2.1 and because u tried hdmi 2.1 cable (hope is real certified 8k hdmi 2.1) problem must be in virgin box...

I then swapped the virgin box and firestick around and the flashing moved with it so I assumed the virgin box. To eliminate the cable I purchased an 8k HDMI 2.1 cable and used this on the virgin box, the picture has improved and the virgin box has put HD channels on 102,103,105 in place of sd channels. I have noticed the flicker a few times.

Just having exactly the same issue from virginmedia , I also presume its because my playstation is in dmz . I'd not suffered this in the past due to the fact the r2 was behind another router but now its directly into the virginmedia modem they have contacted me. e24fc04721
