I've been flushing out my digital comic collection, and the best site I've found for older/obscure comics is readcomiconline.to. I don't use it a lot, but it's a pretty good last-ditch resource for stuff that's not on usenet or bittorrent.

I've gone looking for automated options, but the only two I have found are not really usable. Comic-dl gets itself IP-banned after half a dozen downloads (known issue, no workaround), and the comics downloader chrome extension is slow AF and somehow turns 100mb worth of zip file (and doesn't even bother renaming it to .cbz).

Over the years, the comics have spawned ancillary characters, then assistants to the ancillary characters. Companies mentioned in passing became global empires three generations old. The game that started as a handful of guys in a desert shooting at each other slowly blossomed into the most labyrinthine story in Valve history.

While these titles are no longer purchasable from our storefront, you can still view and read these digital comics from your bookshelf.

Of course, you'll see a lot of debut series, but keep checking because it further features entire miniseries for you to enjoy, including comics related to current and previous shows and films, like Marvel's Hero Project on Disney+ and digital-exclusive "Infinity Comics" related to the Loki TV series. If you enjoy the app, you can join Marvel Unlimited with monthly or annual subscriptions. This includes downloads for offline reading, creator and character spotlights, and plenty more fantastic Marvel Unlimited features.

Where can you go to read DC Comics online? DC Kids used to be a good option, and while it still features animations (for which the company is greatly celebrated, giving youngsters a good entry-point into comics), its comic selection has dwindled to nothing. Instead, then, there's DC Universe Infinity, the major publisher's alternative to Marvel Unlimited.

You won't find the big two here: Marvel and DC are absent from the list of publishers on DriveThru. However, there's a large collection of books with a variety of comics that span genres and styles. And you will find Marvel and DC's bigger competitors, like Valiant Comics, Top Cow, and Aspen Comics.

DriveThru's filters can be used to browse genres, formats, publishers, and prices. Use them to narrow down the selection of comics and start exploring. It's hard to know what you'll find here, but DriveThru is always a good place to read free comics online.

The series has now concluded with the Final Quest story arc, available from Dark Horse. The publisher has also released the complete ElfQuest series in collected editions. But you can get a good head-start on the series by reading the rest of the comics online for free.

Despite this iPad being a few years old, CNET'S Scott Stein said it's still good enough to do most things you'd want to do on a tablet. That includes reading your favorite comics. The screen is 10.2 inches and the starting price ($280) is low compared with most tablets, which means you can buy more graphic novels and single issue comics -- or prosthetics for your Hellboy cosplay.

If you want a tablet that can handle demanding tasks during your day and that lets you unwind with some comics at night, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Plus is for you. CNET's Joshua Goldman said this tablet could almost replace your laptop, and it has a 12.4-inch screen, so you can see all the cameos and details when the X-Men host the annual Hellfire Gala.

Amazon's Fire HD 10 is the cheapest device on this list ($150), making it a great option for people who want a tablet but don't want to spend a lot of money. You can easily access comics and manga on this tablet through Amazon's Comixology app, but you'll have to sideload other comic apps. Don't worry -- that's easier than it sounds. I'm not Ultron, and it took me only about 15 minutes to get Marvel Unlimited working on my Fire HD 10. Once you get your app loaded, you're set to read whatever comics that app offers.  ff782bc1db
