eFiling is a CPSC initiative to enable importers of regulated consumer products to file electronically (eFile) with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) certain data elements from a certificate of compliance, via a Partner Government Agency (PGA) Message Set.

Version IDs must be unique for the Product ID to which they apply. Once a Version ID has been used for a specific product, it cannot be used again; however, that same Version ID can be used for other certificates with different Product IDs.

The Beta Pilot test will collect at least seven data elements from a certificate of compliance: identification of the product, the consumer product safety rule to which the product is being certified, date of manufacturing, location of manufacturing, date of lab testing, location of lab testing, and a check box to show that a required certificate exists.

To establish an E-Portal account for your law firm, designate someone from within your law firm to serve as the Account Administrator, fill out the ePortal Law Firm Registration Form (please print clearly or type) and submit the completed form to LawFirmRegistration@browardclerk.org. Once the account has been established the designated Account Administrator will receive an email response with the E-Portal login information. The Law Firm Administrator access will allow the user to update the firm's account, reset the firm user password, inactivate attorney accounts and add additional attorney accounts to the firm. A law firm should consider having an alternate administrator to cover leave time, self-audit and manage workload. There is no need to set up individual E-Portal Law Firm accounts with every county.

Summons, writs, subpoenas and other documents that are issued by the clerk should be E-Filed. Choose the appropriate Document Group type from the dropdown list and then choose the appropriate Document Type for that group. The associated issuance fees will be automatically calculated. The clerk will electronically affix the required stamps, seals and signatures. The electronically issued documents will be returned to the filer via email notification and will be sent to all email accounts as registered in the portal. It is the filer's responsibility to supply copies, as required for service, to their process server of choice. No service fees will be collected via the portal at this time. No issued documents will be forwarded to the sheriff or other process servers.

Pursuant to Florida Supreme Court order, fees cannot be charged for E-Filing; only statutorily mandated filing fees can be charged. Filing fees are paid by credit card or electronic withdrawal from a bank account. The Portal will charge a bank transaction or credit card processing fee for the transaction value as cost recovery, as noted on the financial transaction page in the Portal. There is also an option to request a fee waiver on the Portal payment screen. Filing fees are not charged for credit card and bank account transactions until the Clerk accepts the filing. Filing fees will not be assessed for any rejected (Pending Queue) filings. Additional filing fee information: Circuit Criminal Felony and Circuit Juvenile Delinquency case types do not have any filing fees. County Traffic and Misdemeanor Municipal Ordinance (MO) case types have a $10.00 filing fee. Circuit Juvenile Dependency Private Petition case types have a $401.00 filing fee. Circuit Juvenile Petition for Adoption case types have a $301.00 filing fee.  How do I sign my documents? You may either scan the originally signed document or place a '/s/' with the name typed next to it in the signature portion of the document prior to E-Filing it. You must maintain the originally signed documents in your files for a prescribed period of time. Please refer to the 17th Judicial Circuit Administrative Order Establishing Electronic Filing Procedure for more information.

Effective 01/06/2014 all new Traffic and Misdemeanor cases will be filed in electronic format and the clerk will no longer have paper files available for viewing in the courtroom. All filings prior to this date will be available in paper format and can be viewed from the division service location in which the case is filed. Case information and electronic documents/images filed after 01/06/2014 will be available for viewing via the Public Access Terminals located at all four Broward Courthouse service locations or on the Clerk of Courts website.

In order to be accepted by the court, all uploaded documents filed electronically MUST be legible, including the certified stamp or seal for any document that is required to be certified (e.g., a death or marriage certificate).

Original Wills: An action to probate an original will may be eFiled. To do so, a copy of the will must be uploaded, and the original will mailed or delivered to the court no more than five (5) calendar days from the date of eFiling. If the original will is not in the court's possession within the five (5) day time limit, any Letters of Authority shall not issue and the filing may be denied.

If my submitted envelope is returned, do I have to upload all of the documents again to re- submit everything? No. When you look into your returned cases, click the Action drop down and select "copy envelope", the documents will automatically upload into a new envelope. You will need to complete the party information, but the documents from the returned envelope will already be uploaded. This allows you to easily fix the incorrect filing(s) within the first envelope. Once all the necessary information is complete, you may re-submit the new envelope.

How will I receive my summons/citation? You will receive your summons/citation by mail and service must be completed in the traditional manner. There has not been any change in regards to how a summons/citation is received from the court or how to complete proper service.

ADVISORY: JEFS users should be aware that efiling queues may slow down prior to system shut down at 12:00 a.m. This may relate to efiling volume, network, and other technical variables outside of JEFS. This may occasionally cause the efiling submission to fail to complete. To avoid this problem, please give yourself enough time to address technical issues prior to filing deadlines.

In 2009, most of the supplemental forms were revised. The revisions were reflected only on paper copies of the forms. The forms accompanying eFiling have not been updated to the 2009 versions. The differences are one of presentation leaving the practice of calculating taxes intact. If you wish to utilize eFiling using paper forms as templates, please transcribe the information from your 2009 versions onto the eFiling forms as appropriate. If you require assistance with such, please contact us at (844) 663-4411.

Pursuant to 11th Cir. R. 26.1-1(b), the electronic filing of a Certificate of Interested Persons (CIP) in ECF does not relieve an Attorney Filer of the requirement to also complete and keep updated the web-based CIP on the Court's web site. To complete the web-based CIP, counsel must obtain from the clerk an Eleventh Circuit EDF identification number which is independent of PACER and ECF login accounts. See 11th Cir. R. 26.1-1(b).

In Senate Bill 255, the General Assembly has substantially rewritten Georgia's Garnishment Code. The revised Garnishment Code includes O.C.G.A. 18-4-6(b) which requires the Attorney General to develop a list of exemptions from garnishment and maintain the list on the Department of Law's website. The list has been developed and is available at www.law.ga.gov/garnishment-exemption. A copy of the list also has to be transmitted to each clerk of court who issues summonses of garnishment.

Attorneys who fail to renew or recertify will be placed in provisional status and will not be permitted to appear or file. After five years from the renewal or recertification deadline, attorneys who have not complied will be removed from our rosters.
