Created for an exploration of knitwear.

The inspiration for this project started as a continuation of a previous collection titled but this is how it is . Through the development of the look this collection started to take a life of its own with a greater maturity and focused narrative.  

The two pieces share a cool color palette with twill tape details. The pants are designed to transform into shorts or to different color/style pant legs. 

Fabric and notions are sourced second-hand with hand-manipulated surface design.

A playful take on traditional tailored menswear with hand-manipulated surface designs. See the illustrations here.

The top is a poly twill featuring a deep V and button front with elastic attached individually in a grid pattern. A balance between a calculated pattern and the organic drape of the material. Paired with asymmetrical flared trousers with a front and back yoke for added visual interest. Yarn has been hand-stitched perpendicular to the striped fabric, creating a grid pattern. 

100% waxed cotton jacket, 100% cotton top, coated linen trousers

The look was created in coordination with another designer's look. 

Exploration of historical fabrications, materials used for inclement weather, and workwear while studying the sartorial signaling of queerness, masculinity, and femininity throughout history.  

The exterior garment is made from a waxed cotton as was traditionally used by sailors for waterproofing. The pants are patterned in a similar way to longshoreman trousers with a rope waist adjuster. Focus on natural materials that communicate with each other.

100% cotton duck cloth, 100% cotton double gauze, metal clasps

Created for a geometric assignment with patterning completed using only rectangles. Features honeycomb smocking at the sleeves.

The initial inspiration for this piece came from the geometric and repetitive nature of bees and their hives and the silhouette of Lee Young-hee's woman's costume on display at the MFA in Boston.

The exterior garment is made from a sturdy duck cloth while the undergarment was designed with a lightweight cotton gauze to mimic the juxtaposition between the hive and the honey inside. 

Hand-knit dark blue cropped sweater vest with light blue felting of a cloud on the front. 

Features 1x1 ribbing on the neckline, armholes, and bottom. 

Metallic silver heart charms applied below the cloud.

Inspired by space age fashion with the intention of modularity and innovation. 

The outer vest features a freeform quilting pattern and transforms from a vest into a handbag. The tank has a hidden snap panel and interchangeable collar, paired with box pleated culottes. 

Hand-knit oversized cardigan with collar, a ribbed hem, ribbed cuffs and a button closure.
