YES! You can join one practice or clinic without registering. Clinics typically happen in November. These are events where we instruct and practice basic mountain bike skills, play games and get to know new athletes. Students have opportunities to practice turning corners and tight corners safely, crossing over small ground obstacles (similar to bumps & roots), slowing and stopping on their bike (whether flat, uphill, or downhill terrain), and learn trail etiquette.
Sign the one time use waiver here.
Practice occurs twice a week if weather permits. Students should attend 4 practices per month to be in good standing. Any other team-related questions should be answered in this handbook.
Any high school with 5 or more student athletes is scored separately as a school team. Midway High School students who are part of Heart of Texas Jr Cycling wear a Midway kit and represent Midway at the races. The Midway High School team is a separately scored team that operates under the HOT Jr Cycling umbrella.
