Meppen has been the district town of the Emsland district, the second largest district in the Federal Republic of Germany, since 1977. "The green city on the water", as Meppen is also often called, is located on the western edge of Lower Saxony, just 20 km from the Dutch border.

The cozy little town is home to 35,000 people. The rivers Hase and Ems as well as the Dortmund-Ems canal surround the city and meet in the heart of Meppen. In the extensive, green surrounding area, visitors will find numerous excursion destinations and exciting leisure activities. The diverse nature invites you to hike, walk, cycle or take a trip on the water, e.g. a canoe tour.

The cultural center of Meppen with the historic town hall is just a few minutes' walk from the hotel. The large cinema and the new MEP shopping center are also in the neighborhood. The Meppen open-air theater and the SV Meppen stadium can also be reached from the hotel in just a few minutes by bike or on foot.
